Our head chef and co partner
Sedat Acma leads the team at
Cook & Co with not only skill but with dedication and passion.
Sedat began his culinary career at the age of 11 when his parents noticed his passion for food and enrolled him at Turkey's world famous Mengen Anatolian Cookery Vocational Boarding School. He graduated at age 18
in the year 2000 and started his food career by working at
Istanbuls Fang Fang Chinese Restaurant chain and later as Chef A La Carte at Turkey's 5 star Rixos Hotel followed by his employment at another 5 star hotel Calista Luxury resort as a Junior Sous Chef.
Along with his passion for food came his passion for travel and this led him to Australia in 2008. Sedat studied at the Holmes Institute Sydney– Hospitality Commercial Cookery and worked at one of Australia's most prestigious Turkish restaurants Efendy in Balmain, Sydney.
Sedat embarked on his own business adventure with a business partner and opened his Mores Restaurant in Sydney's trendy suburb Glebe in 2010, however he soon realised his passion was for food and not business management so he sold his share and continued working for Efendy and a few other establishments and we are lucky enough
to have him here at Cook & Co now.
When developing our menu Sedat has taken into account the cultural flavour found only in Auburn. He has fused together aspects of the meditteraenian, and the Middle East, whilst keeping in mind the demand for trendy, modern food. We hope that you can come and enjoy Sedat’s passion with us here at Cook & Co, and experience for yourself, the patchwork of cultural, traditional, and modern delicacies.
Ersan Agacayak
Front of House Manager
Ersan Agacayak is the front of house manager and also a co partner
at Cook & Co.
Ersan is well known in Auburn as he started his career in the food industry at the tender age of 18 straight after graduating from high school.
His first job was as a barista at Michel's pattisserie and in 2006 by the age of 19 with the help of his parents he opened and managed his own business, Impress Cafe Auburn. Ersan ran the cafe for 8 years until it sold in 2014 and he went on to managing the Hungry Bull in Balmain.
His friendly nature, impeccable customer skills and his expertise as
a barista is an asset to Cook & Co.
He is always ready to welcome you!
